Located in Sidney, British Columbia on Vancouver Island, we are a church built on a foundation of small groups and currently have 70+ regular attendees. While the majority of those in our church family are seniors, we have a strong core of enthusiastic, dedicated young couples and families. Small groups are a key ministry feature of the church where caring, growing and community primarily occur.

Bill and Krys McLean

About Pastor Bill:

Wm. (Bill) McLean was born in Sault Ste. Marie, On., and is father to 5 sons, Craig, Chad, Brett, Michael, & Jeff., and has been married for almost 30 years to wife, Krys. Bill has pastored for the past almost 8 years at Faith Baptist Church in Echo Bay, On., prior to coming to Bethel Community Baptist Church in Sidney.   Faith Baptist is a church known well in the area as a church that prays and loves people.

Bill lost both mother and father as a young person and consequently had no authority figures or role models in his life.  In the midst of deep trouble, and as a young man of 24, Bill, called on God to be his Savior. Thus began a life of thankfulness, service, and commitment. 

25 years later after continual ministry, many lives and marriages have been impacted through what Bill and Krys lovingly refer to as their, ‘living faith’. Bill recognizes, ‘The Word’ and ‘the Holy Spirit’ have all the answers life demands.  

Bill loves The Lord, preaching, music ministry, visitation, and humor.  He invites all who need answers, knowledge of God, wounds healed, or lives changed to join he and Krys at their new home in Sidney, Bethel Community Baptist Church.

About Krys:

Krys McLean was born in Sault Ste. Marie, On., and is mother to four strapping sons, Craig, Chad, Brett and Michael, and wife to husband, Bill. As a young woman, Krys was a legal secretary then ventured into marketing and advertising with magazines, radio, and television.

Krys and Bill are entrepreneurs at heart and eventually opened and operated a health food and water bottling business in Niagara Falls. Krys then taught Jr. High School several years and worked extensively with Victims in Crisis.  

Krys is a freelance writer and has written for newspapers, magazines, radio, etc., and has spoken at Christian conferences,

ladies groups, etc.   

Krys gave her heart to the Lord 28 years ago, and has taught Sunday School and Adult Sunday School many, many years. Krys is a strong counselor dealing especially with soul wounds and works with parents, marrieds, singles, teens, any who need help or hurt.

Krys and Bill  are delighted to be living in lovely Sidney serving Bethel Community Baptist Church.
