Located in Sidney, British Columbia on Vancouver Island, we currently have 60 - 70 regular attendees.  While the majority of those in our church family are seniors, we have a strong core of enthusiastic, dedicated young couples and families.  Small groups have been a key ministry feature of the church where caring, growing and community occur.

We have begun construction of a new facility that is in keeping with our vision.  The new church and facility will include a Counseling Centre, a Day Care for 25 children, sanctuary seating for 250, multi-purpose rooms and an affiliated Care Complex.

Bethel’s leadership is based on the principle of a plurality of elders who serve as “servant leaders” to the congregation.  The Elders Team of whom the Senior Pastor is one, serve as overseers of the activities of the Church, but focus attention on providing spiritual leadership, guidance and support to the ministry leaders and all members of the congregation. The Elders Team serves as the legal Board of Directors to meet the legal requirements of the Societies Act.

The Ministry Team is considered to be an integral part of Bethel’s organization framework because of its significant role in representing the interests of the congregation and the opportunity it provides for ministry leaders to present matters of common interest.  The Ministry Team assumes a leadership role in implementing the strategic directions identified by the Elders Team and for coordinating activities and evaluating ministries of the church.

The primary areas of focus for Bethel’s ministry can be categorized as corporate worship, discipleship, evangelism, Koinonia community and fellowship, ministry to the community, and missions. 

Bethel Community Baptist Church is located in Sidney, British Columbia, only minutes north of the town core. You're welcome to visit Bethel any Sunday morning. Worship services start at 10:30 am and our temporary new location is 10030 Resthaven Drive "The Shoal Center", pending completion of our new building.
